Overview
Les Sisters Les Sisters is a French animated series based on the best-selling comic by William Maury and Christophe Cazenove, published by Bamboo. The series follows the daily adventures of two sisters who couldn't be more different, yet can't live without each other.
Marine, Wendy — Marine, 7 and a half years old, is the youngest: mischievous, creative and always accompanied by her stuffed animal Puduk. She loves princess costumes and knows exactly how to make her big sister's life impossible. Wendy, 14, is the rebellious teen passionate about rock music and her favourite band, Les Vandalises. Despite her attitude, she's unable to spend a single day without her little sister.
The show's strength lies in its tone: every episode turns an ordinary mishap — homework due, a coveted front-row seat, a fought-over toy — into a small family war, with the mix of warmth and shameless bad faith that made the original comic a hit.
The Comic Book
Before the animated series, Les Sisters was already a publishing phenomenon: the first volume, "Un air de famille", came out in 2008 from Bamboo Édition. Twenty volumes later (the latest, "Moi d'abord !", released in 2025), the series has kept up a near-annual pace and ranks among the best-selling youth comic series in France, with several million albums sold.
The comic tells the story of the same duo and their family through everyday gags told in one or two pages — a short format that translated particularly well into animated episodes, themselves built on brisk, self-contained sketches.
The Universe
The Sisters' universe is rooted in everyday family life: bathroom disputes, remote control battles, rivalries with the neighbours, and secret moments of togetherness. The parents, Sandrine (a nurse, Pisces) and William (a cartoonist, Pisces), complete this family portrait with their own quirks and their obvious love for their two daughters.
The animated adaptation carries this universe forward with a dedicated team: the show is directed by Luc Vinciguerra, with original music by Mathias Duplessy, and produced by Bamboo Production and Samka Productions. The French voices of Marine, Wendy and William are performed respectively by Kelly Marot, Anaïs Delva and Emmanuel Garijo.
From Comic to Screen
The animated series has grown season by season: launched in 2017 on M6, it went on to air on Gulli, then Disney Channel and Netflix for its fourth season in 2025-2026. In total, it counts 207 episodes across four seasons — enough to follow Marine and Wendy through several years of their childhood and teenage life.
