The Music of The Sisters

Original SoundtrackMathias DuplessyLes Vandalises

Music is at the heart of The Sisters' universe — starting with Wendy, an absolute rock fan and devotee of the fictional band Les Vandalises. But the series also has a genuine musical identity, with an original soundtrack composed by Mathias Duplessy, giving each episode its lively rhythm and infectious good humour.

The Composer: Mathias Duplessy

Mathias Duplessy is the composer of the original soundtrack for the Les Sisters animated series. An eclectic and talented musician, he created music that perfectly matches the energy of the series: light, rhythmic, with pop and rock touches reflecting Wendy's personality, and softer, more childlike themes for Marine's sequences.

The original soundtrack contributes to the family-friendly and joyful atmosphere of the series, with catchy melodies that stay in your head long after the episode ends. Each character has their own musical leitmotif, reinforcing the coherence and richness of The Sisters' sound universe.

Les Vandalises

Fictional rock band · Wendy's favourite

Les Vandalises are the fictional rock band adored by Wendy in the Les Sisters series. She's an unconditional fan — she collects their albums, posters and merchandise, and owns a t-shirt signed by the band's lead singer, one of her most prized possessions.

This signed t-shirt is at the centre of many comic adventures: Marine borrows it without permission, Wendy panics, and the whole family is called upon to sort things out. Les Vandalises represent Wendy's rock passion and her rebellious, authentic personality.

The band is never really shown in the series, leaving fans' imaginations free to roam. Some episodes mention them in concert, creating hilarious situations when Wendy tries to drag Maxou along (who doesn't necessarily appreciate it).

Music in The Sisters' Universe

Music plays an important narrative role in Les Sisters. For Wendy, it's an identity, a passion and a way of asserting who she is to the world (and to her little sister). Her room is covered in rock band posters, she plays music at full volume, and Maxou has to deal with it — even if he's not necessarily a fan.

For Marine, music is lighter: she sings nursery rhymes she's made up at the top of her lungs, she dances in the living room with Puduk, and she doesn't hesitate to sing Wendy's songs with her own distorted lyrics — to her sister's great despair.

The series' original soundtrack reflects these two worlds: guitar riffs for Wendy's sequences, round and joyful melodies for Marine.
